## What they believe
The Salvation Army is a church as well as a charity. Its eleven doctrines are Wesleyan: that Scripture alone is the rule of faith and practice, that Christ's atonement is for the whole world, that believers may be wholly sanctified, and that continuing in salvation depends on continued obedient faith. It does not practise water baptism or the Lord's Supper, holding that no outward ceremony is necessary for salvation.
