Lutheran Church of Our Saviour

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada confesses the three ecumenical creeds and the Augsburg Confession, holding that a sinner is justified by grace through faith on account of Christ alone, that Christ's body and blood are truly present in the Lord's Supper, and that the children of believers are baptized.

The Lutheran Church of Our Saviour is on 4th Avenue West, on the hill above the west side of the harbour. The congregation bought the property in 1963, and the church has stood there since. It belongs to the Eastern Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada.

One service is held each Sunday at half past ten, with communion and Sunday school, and is posted to the congregation’s YouTube channel. The congregation is also behind Lutheran Social Services, a non-profit corporation that provides community housing in the city.

Its address is easily confused with St. George’s Anglican, which carries the same street number a kilometre away on 4th Avenue East.
