St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church

St. Andrew's belongs to the Presbyterian Church in Canada, which holds the Westminster Confession and Catechisms as its subordinate standards under Scripture, baptizes the children of believers, and is governed by elders in session, presbytery and General Assembly.

St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church stands on 2nd Avenue West, a few blocks south-west of the river and the downtown. It is the congregation of the Presbyterian Church in Canada that remained outside the union of 1925, when the town’s other Presbyterian churches, Division Street and Knox, went into the United Church.

Two services are held on Sunday morning: a contemporary service at nine and a traditional one at half past ten. Ed Hoekstra is the pastor. The congregation runs a Harvest Happening each autumn, and the church is listed with the community information service as a meeting place for several local groups during the week.
