Owen Sound First Christian Reformed Church
The Christian Reformed Church in North America confesses the three ecumenical creeds together with the Three Forms of Unity of the Dutch Reformation, the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism and the Canons of Dort. It baptizes the children of believers and is governed by elders and deacons in council, classis and synod.
Owen Sound First Christian Reformed Church is on 4th Avenue West, south of the downtown on the road out towards Grey Road 18. It belongs to the Christian Reformed Church in North America, the larger of the two Dutch Reformed federations in Canada, and shares its confessions with the Canadian Reformed congregation west of the city.
The congregation gathers once each Sunday, at ten in the morning, and streams the service for anyone unable to come. Like other Christian Reformed churches it holds the Three Forms of Unity as summaries of biblical teaching, baptizes the children of believers, and is governed by a council of elders and deacons within a classis and a synod.
