Owen Sound Church of the Nazarene
The Church of the Nazarene is a Wesleyan-holiness denomination formed in 1908. It teaches that after conversion a believer may be entirely sanctified by a second work of grace, cleansed from original sin and filled with the Holy Spirit, and that Christ died for everyone rather than for an elect few.
The Owen Sound Church of the Nazarene meets in the smallest of the four churches at Salvation Corners, on the north-west corner of 10th Street and 4th Avenue East. The building was put up for the Disciples of Christ and modelled on an English country church; the Nazarene congregation bought it in 1956.
Sunday school for adults and young people meets at ten, the morning worship service at eleven, and a Bible study on Wednesday evening. The Church of the Nazarene is a Wesleyan-holiness body, which means it teaches that grace is offered to everyone and that a believer may be wholly sanctified in this life by a second work of grace after conversion.
